Why Solid Shampoo
Most shampoo is sixty to eighty percent water. You've been buying water in a plastic bottle, using it once, and throwing the bottle away — where it will remain, essentially unchanged, for the next four hundred and fifty years.
Solid shampoo eliminates the water entirely. What's left is pure, concentrated formula — the part that actually cleans your hair, pressed into bar form. No dilution. No plastic to contain it. Nothing the ocean ever has to meet.
Aerwyna's shampoo bar isn't soap. It's built with the same plant-based surfactants as your best liquid shampoo, which means it lathers, it rinses clean, and it doesn't leave your hair feeling like it survived something difficult. It just leaves your hair clean.
One bar replaces two to three plastic bottles. Each one you choose is one that never exists.
How to Use
Wet your hair thoroughly. Wet the bar.
Glide the bar directly over your hair from root to tip, or work it between your palms to build a lather first — either works. Apply to the scalp and work through with your fingertips the way you always have.
Lather, then rinse thoroughly. Your hair should feel clean, not squeaky. Squeaky means the water needs more time to rinse. Give it another moment.
Allow the bar to dry completely between uses. A soap dish with drainage keeps it lasting longer — standing water is the only thing that shortens a bar's life. Keep it out of the direct stream of the shower when you're not using it.
A note on the first two weeks. Your scalp has spent years calibrating its oil production to synthetic detergents. When the stripping stops, it takes a little time to understand that. Some people notice no difference at all. Some notice a brief adjustment period of one to two weeks before their scalp settles into its natural balance. Either way, the hair on the other side of it confirms everything.

My hair is very long and very thick. I have always struggled with a dry itchy scalp. I have used it 4 times now along with the matching conditioner bar and my hair feels so much healthier than when I was using Head and Shoulders! Lathers up well, rinses away without any buildup, leaves hair feeling shiny and clean. My hair gets less greasy between washes and no more itchy scalp. Definitely recommend!
It gets my hair well cleansed and so soft. The scent is nice and not overpowering. Easy to use — I just rub the bar in my wet hair and wash with the lather. I use this with the conditioner bar and I am impressed with Aerwyna! I have tried several different brands of shampoo and conditioner bars before but these are the best. Fine, straight-to-wavy hair looks smooth and beautiful. So happy with the plastic-free packaging too — the bar comes in a mermaid-patterned paper box, all biodegradable. Will be ordering again!
I was very pleasantly surprised by how easy and delightful this shampoo bar is to use! I expected it to be waxy and difficult to lather based on reviews of other shampoo bars, but this is a breeze. I usually don't use scented products as I have allergies, but this is a light scent — not cloying or overwhelming — and my skin loves it. No itchy skin, dry scalp or allergy challenges. I've been on the hunt for products that skip plastic containers. This is awesome! Will definitely buy again.
